A Basic Milling Wizard, that will guide novice users through the complete process of creating an NC program file using their CAD data.

The new Two-Sided Milling Wizard: a revolutionary new wizard option that makes it very simple to machine a model from two sides, without having to change the work piece zero point after turning the model upside-down for the second machining operation.

KEY Features:

• DeskProto utilizes the industry standard .STL file type (Any current 3D CAD-system is able to write this type of file)
• In addition to .STL files, DeskProto can process DXF & VRML Files
• DeskProto can scale, translate, rotate, etc. the geometry of your file
• DeskProto will fully & automatically calculate the milling paths of the part you wish to cut
• There is no need to worry about damaging your model - DeskProto is guaranteed gouge-free!
• To mill your prototype just send the path information from DeskProto to your FlashCut milling machine and you will have your prototype on an expedited path to completion
  

Completely new V5 features:

• Script wizards are completely new in software development. This means that any user can add a Wizard to DeskProto using a Scripting language and HTML layout. Three great wax-ring wizards for Jewelers have been added, see below. Also non-wizards scripts are possible. As DeskProto can auto-load a script wizard customization can be easily achieved.
• Support for a manually controlled 5th axis has been added
• The Bitmap operation offers automatic grey-value to Z-height conversion based on a 2D bitmap file (bmp, jpg or gif). This feature has been requested by many users for a long time already.
• Nested Freeform Segments are now supported: the inner contour indicating an area that does not belong to the segment. Repeated nesting is possible too.
