Company
History
FlashCut CNC was incorporated in 1993 as an outgrowth of
a design partnership between Rick Pfaff and Ron Worth. FlashCut's
purpose was to design and develop innovative products, which
resulted in several widely distributed, patented products.
During the development of these products, Rick and Ron were
often frustrated with the expense and time required to prototype
parts. They felt there must be an easy to use and cost effective
alternative to expensive machine tools. This led to the
initiation of a two year R&D effort to create a hands on,
inexpensive CNC system. As a result of this effort, FlashCut
introduced its line of CNC products early in 1997.
Team
Profile
The partners have worked together for over fourteen years.
Rick and Ron originally met while working for IBM in 1984.
Rick earned a masters degree in manufacturing engineering
at Stanford in 1987. Ron earned a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering
at Stanford in 1995 and performed his thesis on rapid prototyping.
Mike
McCall is our Director of Sales. Mike is an Industrial
Technology graduate from San Jose State University.
Since then he has become a seasoned professional in the
CAD/CAM CNC industry and brings a wide breadth of knowledge
to our customers for both pre-sales and post-sales support.
Anne
Neale is our office manager. She takes care of the
financial end of the business and keeps the rest of us engineers
in line from time to time.
Our
Engineering team consists of John, John and John.
The "J" team continuously improves the FlashCut
CNC electronics and software both in maintaining our product
line and adding features.
