Description
DeskProto is a 3D CAM software package for Rapid Prototyping
and Manufacturing. It's aimed at designers and modelmakers
to quickly create models of new product designs, and at
moldmakers to easily CNC machine models and cavities based
on STL or DXF data. DeskProto is fast, it's lowcost and
it's extremely easy to work with. The latest version of
DeskProto supports full rotational axis interpolation.
We
are also very proud of the Reduced Feedrate at High Chip-Loads:
an option to automaticaly reduce the feedrate when the tool
has to make a full-width cut (so when the toolpath is lower
than the previous one).

Basic Milling Wizard, that will guide novice users through
the complete process of creating an NC program file using
their CAD data.

new Two-Sided Milling Wizard: a revolutionary new wizard
option that makes it very simple to machine a model from
two sides, without having to change the work piece zero
point after turning the model upside-down for the second
Starting
point for DeskProto is an .STL-file. This
file type is standard for all types of rapid prototyping,
and contains a geometry-description in the form of small
triangles. Any current 3D CAD-system is able to write this
type of file. Also DXF-files from 3D Studio can be processed,
and VRML-files as well. DeskProto reads the file and displays
its contents. At this point it is possible to scale the
geometry, translate, rotate etc. After entering some milling
parameters (type of cutting tool, required accuracy, etc)
DeskProto will fully automatically calculate the milling
paths. No danger for damaging the model: guaranteed gouge-free!
Send
the path information to the FlashCut milling machine in
your own office, and you will have your prototype ready:
within a few hours !
DeskProto
V2 is a 32 bits MS Windows application (it will function
using Windows 95, 98, 2000, NT 4 and XP or newer). Other
platforms are not supported. Minimum required hardware is
a Pentium PC with 32 Mb RAM and 40 Mb of free disk space.
However, in order to minimize waiting times a fast machine
with more RAM is strongly recommended. We also recommend
the use of the 3D graphics card that supports Open-GL.
