The Machine Tool Envelope is the physical zone that the machine tool can reach. The Machine coordinates depict where you are in the machine tool envelope at any time. The best way to accurately set this is by homing your machine to one corner of the machine. The machine tool envelope will then be set from that corner based on the dimensions defined in the Configuration…Machine…Axes…Axis Settings.
There are two main coordinate systems in FlashCut: Machine and Program. The Program Coordinates denote the coordinate system that the G-code commands in a G-Code file will be referring to. A common place for Program Zero is the top, left, lower corner of the workpiece. The Program Coordinates are independent of the Machine tool but can be set relative to each other using Fixture Offsets such as G54, G55, etc.
